The Walls Are Closing In On Me
COVID clean up, clear-out and rightsizing The American Dream has been a landscape of building capital, consumerism and consuming, saving stuff and storing stuff, etc. The average American home contains more than 300,000 items! As quarantinees under COVID 19, we may be feeling the weight of all those items pressing in on us. Perhaps we are also examining the larger effect of our culture of consumption at 10,000 feet – the intersection of a warming world, and a more populated world. We are also coming face to face with questions about ‘essential living’.
This program will look at some of the movements to mitigate over-consumption and waste creation (Buy Nothing Groups, Bartering, etc.), and will then feature Theresa Cashman of Clearing Space, to come back down to earth. Theresa will take us through the agony and the ecstasy of Clearing Space, and will share secrets to downsizing, rightsizing, and ‘neatness’ management. She will also give some perspective on the psychology of ‘stuff’ – our attachments, and how to let go. You will also be included in a follow-up event in October to share progress and/or challenged you faced in applying some of the tips and resources you will gain in this session. Join us!
